Enter a crossfit workout and get hooked in no time

Yup, I got bitten by that CrossFit bug. Love it! Kinda “weird” atmosphere with some awesome folks. The beginner class (CrossFit Elements) is mandatory and teaches all of the movements used in CrossFit, as well as the overall fitness philosophy and programming methodology they adhere to. Its 6 sessions in total. And they have to check out a normal group class, where they actually make sure you are doing things right. I ended up have to use a PVC pipe instead of a barbell, to ensure to work on my form first. I am glad I weigh 60 pounds less then over a year ago, but it will be a good reminder with those workouts, that added weight will hinder doing unassisted pullups, ring dips, handstand walks. So its a great motivation to get my act together and get to the next level of fitness.

They link their website to Marks Daily Apple and Robb Wolf, and do announce when they have the Urban Caveman stop by. So I think they might also focus on eating well. But if not, no problem either.

What I also like, is they have a couple of different leagues where they play volleyball, tackle football, and soccer besides doing the CF workouts. I love playing Volleyball.

I just realized something really silly. So my goal is only to eat 3 meals a day, but then I get hungry around 3:30/4:00pm and end up eating almonds or worse mini-chocolate bars because I did not plan for it. I better start packing some snacks. I dont have to eat them but they will be a better option just in case.

Today’s workout:

400M Run (once around the block)
2 Rounds of “Cindy” (5 Pull-ups, 10 Push-ups, 15 Air Squats)

1: Back Squat (3 X 5)
2: Shoulder Press (3 X 5)

10 Minute AMRAP
5 Push Press (95#/65#)(135#/85#) – haha I did the PVC pipe, virtually no weight at all
10 Ring Dips (Muscle-up to rings for +) – I did dips from a box
15 Med-Ball Sit-ups (20#/14#) – loved those, but wasn’t allowed to use a med-ball, even though I would use a 20# plate with my trainer at Gold’s

I was suppose to count the rounds and reps that I did, but forgot. Duh.
